Many people these days take there health very seriously and if like me you sometimes find it difficult to keep track of your progress then maybe it is time to download one of these helpful apps below, many smartphones nowadays have a huge array of apps at there disposal, I have decided to do a guide this week to some of the best:
1. The Coppertone App –
This is a very helpful tool when it comes to keeping you safe in the rays so that you don’t bake and burn, not only will this app track your location, it will also provide a local forecast, calculating the day’s UV index as well as an appropriate sunscreen to use based on your skin type. The app also features an alarm that will warn you when you need to top up on sunscreen.
2. Goodguide –
This is definately a one-stop shop for healthy eaters, you simply scan the barcode of a product when at a store and the app will tell you a health rating for the item as well as an environmental rating, a list of ingredie
nts and greener options that are available.
3. Couch To 5K –
This app won the best fitness and healthcare app award in 2012, it behaves as a personal trainer with three different personal trainers to pick from. This app will gradually build up your fitness over a nine week period hopefully allowing you to complete a 5k run at the end of it.
4. Alcohol Aware –
This app will help you keep track of how much alcohol you consume on a daily basis so you can keep track of your drinking habits, with the paid ‘plus’ version you also get a nifty guide telling you how many calories are in each drink so you can also keep an eye on your waistline.

For anybody who knows the misery of backpain, this app could well help you on your way to recovery, the app contains 22 videos of simple exercises

6. Moodscope –
Many people see health and well-being as a physical thing, but your mental state also has a huge impact on you too. This app is designed to help measure and track your state of min
d and hopefully lift your mood. This app will observe all of the things that bring you down and back up again and help manage mood swings effectively.
7. iStep Log –
An easy way to keep track of your fitness without entering a gym!, This app is like a mini pedometer in your pocket and moniters how much you move throughout the day, it measures how many steps you have taken on a daily basis and is an easy way to motivate yourself.
8. Eyeexam –
Looking after your eyes is important, with this handy app you can quite easily find out whether you have 20/20 vision or a visit to your friendly opticians is in order. It can also test color perception, eye dominance and stigmatism.
This all in one diet and fitness solutions app allows you to keep track of your workouts and food intake. The food goal function allows you to set a calorie intake plan based on your body type, lifestyle and target weight, the calorie zone portion of the app will alter itself dependent on how active you are throughout the day.
10. Skinvision –
This app was designed with some of the world’s top dermatologist’s, this app will detect early skin conditions by monitoring of moles on your body as well as tracking UV exposure daily. The app takes a photo of your skin and analyses, the app will then give you a personalized skin health profile within a matter of seconds, the images can then be saved to monitor your skin and check for changes.
